A powerful lineup of Twin Cities MCs are coming together Friday at the Navell Gordon Solidarity Concert. They are showing their support for Gordon after he was a person at the at the center of the #pointergate scandal that began with the racist KSTP-TV report. In the report, KSTP reporter Jay Kolls alleged that Gordon, who was not named in the story but portrayed in negative light as a “convicted felon”, and Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges were flashing gang signs in a photo posted online. In reality, they posed for a picture, pointing at each other, during a door to door voting registration campaign.
The concert is showing support for Gordon “Not the nameless, faceless shadowy figure that inspired national outrage – but the artist, father, organizer, and valued community member that so many of us have grown to love and appreciate.”
The lineup includes Ashley Dubose, BdotCoc, DJ Snuggles, Emmanuel Ortiz, Freez, Guante, King Fuvi, The Lioness, MaLLy, Manny Phesto, Master Mind, Metasota, Miss Brit, Sean Anonymous, Sweetz P, Win Nevaluze. There will be more special guests and speakers, according the the event page.
