By reuniting with old friends, the Interlock emissaries launch into a 15 minute reflection of the moments that seemed to pass too soon. Even though the majority of the bittersweet production was handled by the Unknown Prophet, Big Jess, the song also features the guitar work of Heiruspecs‘ Twinkie Jiggles and Josh Peterson. Along with the morphing glitch work of Mike the Martyr, Big Zach, MeshOne and Unicus Harry are joined by an all-star team of MCs including Big Shiz, Raashan Ahmad, Kipp G, OSP, Glo Pesi of the heralded, Abstract Pack as well as Heiruspecs front man, Midway Felix (who also is credited for the transitional beat change). And the moment would not be complete without the heavenly harmonies of St. Paul’s Muadib and Iowa’s own Kristina Marie Castaneda throughout the emotional epic’s evolution. Factor in many references to some of the most revered within the Twin Cities, this is a touching gift from some of the most celebrated pioneers in the sensational Hip Hop scene, proving that it is best to appreciate the present before it’s gone.
“Maybe This Moment” is now available for purchase as an EP on iTunes. Although it is unclear if this is an indication of future releases from the Southside treasures, fans can expect a new album from Big Zach with Mike The Martyr on February 12th at the Cabooze nightclub. More details soon to come.
