Last Week In Minnesota Hip Hop

We’ve quiet since the beginning of the year, but we’re coming back. We’ve been trying to figure the best way to include as much of the scene as we can. Be on the lookout for some new things here at BXL.

Week to week, the Minnesota Hip Hop scene has something dope on the horizon. Last week, we were gifted with some gems from Dessa, Carnage, Metasota, and Finding Novyon.

Doomtree’s Dessa released a video for her song “Sound The Bells.” The video was premiered by PRI’s The World and complimented with an audio interview. The video is shot on location amid underwater sculptures located off Isla Mujeres, on the Yucatan Peninsula, according to PRI. The result is stunning.

The one-and-only Carnage is back with Public Execution #4. This time around Carnage makes an Instrupella. Prepared to be amazed once again by the The Executioner’s insane beat-boxing chops.

Metasota released a new joint produced by Killuh Beats of Virginia, MN. “Sickstee” is a polished piece from Meta that speaks about his recent frustrations. It’s unclear if this smoky track will be on Meta’s upcoming album #RUNDMT; but for now it’s easy to vibe.

Finding Novyon has dropped another project ahead of his full length The Food Network. Off the heels of his 7th Street entry show, Novyon continues to show progress from EP to EP and Flame Up is no exception.
