G.P. Jacob Attacks Gentrification In New Visual For “A Small Place”

G.P. Jacob breaks down the reality of gentrification for him and other Minneapolis natives on the song “A Small Place”. In the song dedicated to Northeast Minneapolis, he proclaims “It’s like we live in Brooklyn, baby.” during the hook.

In front of luxury apartment construction G.P. continues with discomforting lines like “Prime real estate to maximize the profits, those who claim they own it, want our broke ass off it.” and “scenery changed; job prospects didn’t; lost on my own block; now I don’t fit in.” The un-easing beat is produced by Jake the Jeweler of Double Helix productions and the video was shot and edited by Nolan Regan Morice of Line Break Media.
